When Good Companies Go Bad

The telltale signs of a successful company in decline are:

* When management finds it's easier to hire from the outside rathan grow from within.

* When company leaders begin to define success predicated on what has been done, rather          than what could be done.

* When management begins to believe that getting better is not as important as protecting the     status quo.

* When compliance with company processes and procedures has become more important            than performance and progress.

* When the actions of the company formely threatened competitors, but now the company is        threatened by the actions of its competitiors.
